Hello! I’m Zhongdong Liu (刘中东). I’m currently a Software Engineer at Meta, where I work on datacenter design and configuration. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to connect or have any questions.

I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech, where I had the privilege of being advised by Dr. Bo Ji and collaborating with members of the SNAIL group. My research interests lie in the modeling, analysis, control, optimization, and learning of computer and network systems, with a particular focus on information-update systems. Currently, I am also exploring large language models, including model training and training data generation.

Before joining Virginia Tech, I began my Ph.D. studies at Temple University under the guidance of Dr. Ji, and later transferred to Virginia Tech together with Dr. Ji. Prior to that, I worked as a Research Assistant at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), Shenzhen, China, in 2017, where I was fortunate to be mentored by Dr. Rui Wang. I earned my B.S. degree in Mathematics (with Honors) from Northeast Forestry University, Harbin, China, in 2016.
