Hello, I’m Zhongdong (Nicholas) Liu, a fourth year CS PhD student at Virginia Tech advised by Dr.Bo Ji. My research interests include the modeling, analysis, control, optimization, and learning of computer and network systems. I have a particular interest in the information-update systems.

[Mar. 2021] I received INFOCOM 2021 Student Conference Award.

[Feb. 2021] Our paper “Anti-Aging Scheduling in Single-Server Queues: A Systematic and Comparative Study” is accepted by Journal of Communications and Networks.

[Dec. 2020] Our paper “A Worst-Case Approximate Analysis of Peak Age-of-Information via Robust Queueing Approach” is accpeted by INFOCOM 2021 (acceptance rate: 19.9%).

[Aug. 2020] I transferred to the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech.
